Türkiye-Africa Trade Surges to $37 Billion with $100 Billion in Infrastructure Projects

Date:

Trade between Türkiye and African nations reached $37 billion in 2024, with targets set to hit $40 billion in 2025, according to Trade Minister Omer Bolat. Speaking at the 5th Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum in Istanbul, Bolat highlighted that trade and investment ties have expanded more than sevenfold since 2003, marking a deepening economic partnership.
Turkish construction companies have completed over 2,000 infrastructure projects worth $100 billion across Africa, significantly contributing to the continent’s development. Bolat emphasized that the partnership is built on a “fair, equal, and win-win” approach, fostering sustainable growth.
Improved air connectivity, with Turkish Airlines flying to 62 destinations across 40 African countries, and ongoing humanitarian and development programs by Turkish organizations have strengthened social and economic ties.
The Istanbul forum, attended by 3,000 African business leaders, serves as a major platform to promote collaboration in key sectors such as infrastructure, textiles, logistics, and pharmaceuticals, further enhancing Türkiye’s strategic footprint across the continent.
