Yellow Level 2 Warning Issued for Severe Thunderstorms in Gauteng

Date:

A Yellow Level 2 weather warning has been issued for parts of Gauteng due to severe thunderstorms expected today and tomorrow. Residents in southern areas should prepare for heavy rain, minor hail, and strong winds that could cause localised flooding and travel disruptions.
Forecasters have cautioned that the storms will intensify during the afternoon and evening, bringing possible flooding in low-lying areas, slippery roads, and reduced visibility. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, avoid crossing flooded roads, and remain alert while travelling.
While daytime temperatures will stay warm, cooler conditions are expected in the evening. Weather conditions are expected to improve on Friday, with dry weather returning to most parts of Gauteng. However, caution is urged until the storm system fully moves away.
