Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel mourned the “innocent victims” of the Delhi blast in a personal message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The attack near the Red Fort claimed at least eight lives and injured several more.
“Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” Netanyahu wrote. He offered his nation’s unwavering support, stating, “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time.”
The Israeli leader also delivered a strong message of resilience. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he said. He celebrated the “strong bond” and “shared values” of the two “ancient civilisations.”
The sentiment was echoed by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who also condemned the killing of “innocent victims” and affirmed, “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror.”
The investigation into the blast is proceeding with urgency. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been tasked with the probe, which is focused on a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terror module responsible for the car bombing.
